Echosmith Chat Writing Music, Influences, and Perform Acoustic in NYC

New York City may be coined the “City of Dreams”, but it didn’t stop Echosmith from coming to share about the dream they pursued—writing songs and making music. Echosmith, formed and based in Los Angeles, California, brings forth the genuine charisma and talents of siblings Sydney Sierota (lead vocals), Noah Sierota (bass, vocals), and Graham Sierota (drums, vocals). They put out their debut record, Talking Dreams, on October 1, 2013 via Warner Bros. Records, which features their hit single, “Cool Kids”. Their debut record was followed by the EP Inside a Dream, and most recently, “Over My Head” on March 16, 2018, which has already acquired more than 13 million streams on Spotify. Not only have they been the first and only band so far to sell out all three rooms of Webster Hall, they have shared their amazing sound at a handful of venues, including Hammerstein Ballroom, Irving Plaza, and Beacon Theatre.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, Echosmith treated fans to a special evening of conversation and music at the beautiful Sony Hall. For Echosmith, creating music begins and lies within writing from the heart—expressing one’s honest feelings and the truth. They also cited a few of their influences, which include Sting, The Smiths, and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. of The Killers. To top off the evening, Echosmith performed gorgeous acoustic renditions of “Over My Head”, “Tell Her You Love Her”, “Bright”, and “Cool Kids”.
