QNA, "Rated X"
"I have a question, am I eternal like the rock, unshifting?"—QNA
Layer the sound of a saxophone on top of a New York City subway stop announcement. Mix elongated jazz sounds with spoken word. The result is QNA. Not only does QNA bring a new combination, they bring a new identity of music, through two genres that would not have experienced an encounter, otherwise. QNA, formed and currently based in Brooklyn, showcases a jazz/hip-hop through the the talent of Jai Issa (MC), Benjamin Chin (saxophone, MC), Marina Espinet (vocals), TJ Adomo (guitar), and Marco Gill (drums), and Jason Smith (bass). Following the release of their debut mixtape in August 2015, they are currently working on their debut EP, set to released in the fall. They also make up the core of A Common Language, a hip-hop fusion collective in New York City. Check out their unique mix of sounds and beats!
